These ab workouts work the abs AND the neck muscles… its supposed to feel that way… I did it in the first week and my neck did hurt but it wasn’t the joints but the muscles in my neck… then after 3 days my neck is ok as it has adapted to the exercise and my neck looks more define and tight! You know like when you turn your neck around or turn it left to right it looks better and more define…
this is what we call exercise and proper instructions.
@jay987gee putting your neck in flexion like that is never great. Certainly not a common position in sports so why train that way? Crunch type exercises are outdated.
Why do I always get cramps around my neck when I do this one?! :S

@YAYA2ish Your probably moving your neck, so keep it still. I think you’re supposed to flex your abdominal muscles (idk). I wouldn’t use this particular exercise they have other very easy and useful ones. Try this crunch (probably improper form but it works); keep your feet off the ground moving them in a bicycling motion while putting the opposing elbow to them (left elbow right knee/right elbow left knee). Don’t just move your elbow over there; actually twist your torso to make it touch.
